Welcome to TaleAI (the "App"), an AI-powered interactive-fiction application that lets you co-create branching stories. TaleAI is developed and operated by Wuxi Nanhara Technologies Co., Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our"). Protecting your data security and privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the App and how we process it.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using TaleAI. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@nanhara.com or through the in-app feedback feature. If you do not agree with this policy, please stop using the App.
This Privacy Policy helps you understand the following:
a) Account information. To use TaleAI you sign in with your email address (and a one-time verification code) or with Sign in with Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides and, if you allow it, your email (which may be Apple's private relay address). We use this solely to create and secure your account and to sync your stories across your devices.
b) Content you create. TaleAI is interactive: you provide inputs such as the genre you choose, the protagonist details you enter (name, gender, traits, goal), and the custom story directions you write. We process these inputs to generate the next chapter of your story. Your stories and chapters are stored so you can continue reading them.
c) AI-generated content. The chapters, choices, and cover images TaleAI produces are generated by AI based on your inputs. We store this generated content as part of your stories.
d) Usage and service data. We collect data needed to operate the service, such as the number of chapters you generate, your subscription tier and status, timestamps, and basic diagnostic logs. This is used for delivering the service, enforcing fair-use limits, preventing abuse, and improving quality.
e) Device and technical information. We may collect a device identifier, app version, operating-system version, language/region setting, and IP address for security, fraud prevention, and to keep the App running correctly.
f) Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through in-app purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details; we receive a transaction receipt from Apple to activate and validate your subscription.
We do not collect your phone number, contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, or photo library for the overseas version of the App.
TaleAI is a text-based reading and writing experience and requests very few permissions:

Each third party processes data only as needed to perform its function and under its own privacy terms.
We store your information on secured servers and apply technical and organizational measures (including encryption in transit) to protect it against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only: (a) with the service providers listed in Section 4 to operate the App; (b) when required by law or valid legal process; or (c) to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and our service.
You may access, correct, or delete your information at any time.
Account deletion. You can permanently delete your account and associated data directly in the App: go to Me → Account → Delete Account, or contact us at support@nanhara.com and we will process your request. Deleting your account removes your stories, generated content, and account information from our active systems.
TaleAI is not directed to children. The App is intended for users aged 12 and older (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from young children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We operate globally. Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. We take steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, through in-app notice. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
